Getting to know and care for the donkey
Where did donkeys come from? Why do they have long ears? What are their needs?
Learn all about the donkey’s origin, physiology, way of thinking, their needs and their special characteristics. Learn how we humans used them throughout the centuries, see old and new equipment and discover their feeding needs and preferences.
Participate in their everyday care: learn how to groom, clean hooves, feed, help in their training. Understand how you can cooperate with a donkey with respect to the animal’s nature. You will soon end up with a long eared friend that will have won your heart forever!
The program continues with reference to tales, myths, songs and poems that come from Greek culture and concern the donkey.
The program takes place in different spots of the park (our school, the donkeys’ yard and stable, the round pen, the equipment and food exhibition). The participants are divided into groups of 10-12 persons and circulate from one point to another.
The programme is conducted throughout the year.
Duration: 120′
